Brief biography I’ve had the privileged opportunity to work in the Big 10, Pac 12, Big 12, National Basketball Association, and with US Olympic Committee (2003 Pan American and 2004, 2008, 2012 Olympic Games). I can truly say I’ve experienced sports at the greatest levels. Over a 30-year career in sports medicine and science, my experience ranges from working in a sports medicine clinic to high school, college, and professional athletes. I have been and continue to be truly blessed with great mentors that encourage me to reach the highest levels in academics and athletics.
Accomplishments: One of my greatest accomplishments has been the past four years working as the medical and sport science coordinator for the San Antonio Spurs. During tenure, the team experienced a prominent resurgence; as prior, they were back-to-back first-round losers in the Western Conference. Today, they are a back-to-back NBA Championship Playoff team, with the last season being World Champions. My role included: implementing travel considerations, physiological tracking system, enhanced nutritional standards, and joint biologics; maximizing recovery with a state-of-the-art recovery system, modification of team training periodization, functional assessment of movement pattern, and preventive therapy.
Full Professor – Ph.D. in Exercise Science with numerous past students holding head athletic trainers positions in the Big 10, Pac 12, ACC, SEC, NHL, NFL, and NBA.
Professionally: Highly dynamic, broad-minded, and results-oriented professional with a passion for education and learning. Self-motivated with excellent leadership and supervisory skills and significant experience in directing projects and optimizing employee capabilities.
