27-28 November 2019 within the framework of the International Conference “Sustainability and Legacy in Sport: Challenges and Perspectives” which support of National University of Ukraine for Physical Education and Sport was held the Second Satellite Symposium of United World Wrestling (UWW) Scientific Commission “Challenge and Perspectives in Wrestling”. The Symposium was held under support the National University of Ukraine for Physical Education and Sport (rector, Professor Yevgeniy Imas) and Ukrainian Wrestling Association (President Oleg Kravchenko) under the patronage of International Network of Wrestling Researchers. The main topics include research in wrestling from: science of training, physiology, psychology, sports medicine, biomechanics, pedagogy, history, sociology, and sports management.
The specialists from Ukraine, Poland, France, Iran, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan sent of their materials to this Symposium.
The main presentations are dedicated to actuality questions of sport wrestling. The question of health in the context of martial arts practice was dedicated to presentation of Jacek Wąsik (Poland), analys of competition activity in international tournaments among elite wrestlers of basic styles of fight was presented of Yuriy Tropin (Ukraine), components of success in cadets and juniors wrestlers were submitted of Mykola Latyshev (Ukraine), the author’s team were outlined of comparative analysis of the psychophysiological characteristics of athletes of different types of martial arts (Leonid Podrigalo, Vyacheslav Romanenko, Olga Podrigalo, Valeriy Goloha, Ukraine), the peculiarities of techno-tactical actions for wrestlers with different genetics characteristics of nervous system was highlighted in the report of authors: Volodymir Lysohub & Nataly Chernenko (Ukraine), the system of diagnostics of psychophysiological state in elite wrestlers was presented from authors team: Georgiy Korobeynikov, Lesia Korobeynikova, Sergey Matveev (Ukraine), Andrey Vorontsov (Ukraine, Kazakhstan), Victoria Мischenko (Ukraine).
In the Symposium was addressed a member of the Scientific Commission UWW, President of the French Union of Wrestling Federations Didier Sauvaire (France). During the discussion it was suggested to prepare an appeal to the United World Wrestling to consider raising the age of performance of veterans (Masters) at official competitions from 60 to 70 years. In the course of the speeches it was suggested to support for the National teams of Ukraine on the proposal to put into practice the results of the scientific researches which presented at the Symposium. It was suggested that papers of Symposium be published in journals included in Scopus and Web of Science databases .
In the second day of Symposium was devoted to visiting the birthplace of Ivan Poddubny (1871-1949), legendary wrestler, Champion among champions. This event was possible with the support of the Federation of Greco-Roman Wrestling of Cherkasy region (President Petro Dusheyko, executive director of the Regional Federation Anatoly Samokha). The symposium participants visited the museum of Ivan Poddubny in the village. Krasenivka, Chernobayiv district, Cherkasy region. There was a meeting with the Presidium of the Federation of Greco-Roman Wrestling in Cherkasy region and the leadership of the Chernobayiv district, Cherkasy region.
