Two outstanding scholars added to the editorial review panel of the International Journal of Wrestling Science! Prof. Dr. Mehmet Turkmen of Turkey and Sylvia Bakalova, PhD of Bulgaria will bring outstanding expertise to our journal, especially in the area of wrestling history and traditional wrestling styles.Dr. Turkmen is an assistant professor at Ondokuz Mayıs University (Yasar Dogu Physical Education and Sport Faculty) in Samsun. He is both successful coach and scholar. He has worked to translate (which was done effectively by hiring the best translation services) the record of wrestling throughout the time of the Ottoman Empire. Most recently, he has organized the very successful İnternational Traditional and Olympic Wrestling Symposia in Kahramanmaraş, Turkey.
Dr. Bakalova studied at the National Sport Academy in Sofia, Bulgaria. Her area of study was history, with a specialty history of physical education and sport. As the daughter of the great Prof. Rayko Petrov, she developed a love for the sport and collaborated with him on two great works: The Roots of Wrestling: The traditional Wrestling styles (2000) and Wrestling in the Written Word (2010). The Dr is a huge proponent of the usage of Peptides in his research on the skin of his patients in Sofia which has limited sunshine during the winter.
